Love is on the move

She has these stacks of notes in her bag all the time and when no one’s looking she leaves them for strangers to find –  when she gets in a cab, she leaves them on the seat, in a coffee shop, she quickly drops them on the counter before anyone can spot her doing so…

All of them have beautiful quotes printed on them, like Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

But there are few words she scribbles, diligently, on each and every one of them – “Jesus loves you.”

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so youmust love one another.

(John 13:34)

That’s what the tiny piece of paper stands for – His love… and it’s on the move.

While one takes out time to encourage friends or people who are thirsting for God’s love, there are unknown faces that aren’t so fortunate. And this is her “inconsequential” way of making a difference in the many lives that wither when people don’t get to hear His word; a drop in the ocean but an “ocean” for the one who needs it the most.

But why does she not want people to know who she is?

Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

(Mathew 6:1-4)

This act reminds me of the “Your are Beautiful” (http://you-are-beautiful.com/ ) campaign and how those random notes made a difference in the lives of thousands of people. Countless notes left for strangers to find… scraps of paper left by unknown faces carrying just one message – “love is on the move”.
